Top 9 Fantastic Dinner & Shows in Montreal You Have to Try

I’ll never forget the time I convinced my mates to try a “dinner and show” out of town. We ended up with a tepid chicken breast and a magician who managed to lose his deck of cards halfway through the act.

My friend tried to make a run for it during the interval, but I was too busy wrestling with what might have been the driest cheesecake known to mankind.

After that night, I thought I’d see what Montreal had up its sleeve. So, I gathered the crew, and we found the dinner-and-show experiences that are actually worth your time—and your appetite.

1. Le Balcon cabaret chic

Le Balcon is best for anyone whose idea of a good time is eating well, catching a top-notch live show, and maybe even dancing. Whether you’re into jazz or pop, the live acts here make for a memorable evening.

The real value here is the all-in-one experience: you get a themed dinner show, a crowd that’s up for a good time, and a menu that caters to most diets.

Arrive between 5:30 and 7:00 pm (earlier for groups) and enjoy a menu with solid choices, from Icelandic cod to braised beef cheek and vegetarian pasta.

Drinks and desserts round things off nicely, and there’s even a handy nearby car park for about $10.

Pro Tip:  Upgrade to the VIP experience for the best seats, a glass of sparkling wine, and a charcuterie platter—it’s worth the extra $50 if you want to make your night special.
