Toiture Couvreur Montreal specialises in slate roofing. Not many roofers in Montreal have the skill to properly repair or install a slate roof, but they do. 

From what we gathered, they treat these jobs like restoration work, not just construction. Most of their clients often praise their attention to symmetry, detail, and historical accuracy.

But they’re not just focused on traditional roofing. We loved how they’ve expanded over the years and now do flat roofs and membrane roofing systems, too.

During our consultation with them, we found out they use elastomeric membranes for flat roofs, which are more durable and flexible than the old-school tar and gravel setups. This way, you get fewer leaks and a longer roof lifespan.

They’re not the cheapest out there, but they’re not over-the-top either. For something like maintenance, it’s a couple of hundred dollars. For bigger jobs like a new roof, it can range from $5,000 to $12,000, depending on the size and materials.

Something to keep in mind, though, is that they’re often in demand, especially for slate roofing. You might have to wait a bit to get on their schedule. A few people mentioned delays, though most still said it was worth the wait.

The first thing that stood out to us about Toiture Expert is their emergency roofing service. If your roof suddenly starts leaking or takes damage during a storm, they can send a crew out quickly to handle it.

We liked that their roofers are CCQ (Commission de la Construction du Quebec)-accredited. This means they’re properly trained and meet standards for construction. 

They also offer full-service roofing, which is super convenient. This could be installing a brand new roof or just repairs. You don’t have to juggle different companies or try to coordinate multiple contractors.

We’ve also talked to some of their past clients, and we noticed that the team is versatile. They’ve tackled different types of roofs, like flat, sloped, and even shingled.

Now, on the flip side, we also came across a client who had a minor issue. He mentioned he booked an appointment the day before, and no one showed up or even called.

One person mentioned a tricky job during a blizzard, which involved a complicated old skylight and coordinating with HVAC contractors. Despite all that, their team stuck it out, showed up on time, and kept things tidy. We think that says a lot about their work ethic.

They offer free estimates, and they’re available 24/7 for emergencies. They’re very responsive too, so we know the 24/7 availability isn’t just a marketing tactic.

When we called after hours to see if someone would pick up, we actually got a callback. That kind of accessibility can be a lifesaver when you’re dealing with unexpected leaks.

That said, compared to the other roofing companies we’ve looked into, their rates are relatively higher.

They use zinc-coated sheet metal from North American suppliers, which gives their roofs a big edge in durability and weather resistance.

One thing that also caught our attention was their warranty. It’s 50 years on the metal itself and 30 years on the colour. 

When we checked out their past works, we also noticed that their roofs really look great. Every panel is custom-cut to fit each home, which means less waste and a really clean, seamless finish. It’s a nice blend of form and function.

They’ve got different profiles to choose from, so whether your house is more modern or traditional, there’s something that fits.

We especially liked how the Ancestral profile hides the fasteners. It’s a small detail, but it makes a big visual difference.

Price-wise, we did notice that their services are more expensive than asphalt shingles. But when you factor in the lifespan and the low maintenance, it makes sense.

We were very impressed with Couvreur René Perron’s experience. With over 60,000+ clients served, they’re clearly not a small-time contractor. 

That volume usually means two things: people trust them, and they know how to scale their work efficiently. From what we’ve seen, that holds true here.

Their services are comprehensive. Unlike other roofing companies that focus on only one or two things, they offer a wide range of services. They can do installation, restoration, insulation, and more.

Material flexibility is another strong point. They seem well-versed in everything, from traditional asphalt shingles to elastomeric and TPO membranes, as well as slate.

Their ability to tailor materials just shows us that they’ve got a deeper level of technical understanding.

We also want to highlight their project execution on commercial jobs. One customer described a 10,000-square-foot roof replacement where the crew showed up with cranes, asphalt trucks, and 27 workers, all ready to go at 7 AM. 

That level of coordination doesn’t happen without serious planning and leadership.

That said, not everything we found was perfect. There were a few complaints about follow-up. One person mentioned submitting a quote request online and never receiving a callback.
