The 5 Best Attic Insulation Services in Montreal That Won’t Blow the Bank

Have you ever had torturous rain seep through your roof? Or a long winter season where even your gorgeous golden retriever is shivering through his coat?

I’ve heard so many horror stories of friends going the cheap route on attic insulations, only to find out that the results are subpar. It’s true that you get what you pay for, but it’s also not impossible to find insulation services that won’t run you dry.

That’s why we compiled the top attic insulation companies we trust. Join us and find the attic insulation company that will give you the best service!

How much is attic insulation in Montreal?
Attic insulation in Montreal costs $1,500 on average, but prices can range from $800 to $3,000. The final cost depends on factors like the size of the attic, the type of insulation used, and the complexity of the installation.

How We Chose

Experience and Expertise: We chose attic insulation companies that have years of experience under their belt. The more experience they have, the better equipped they are to handle any attic, big or small.
Insulation Options: The best companies offer a variety of insulation types, like spray foam, fiberglass, and cellulose. This allows clients to choose what fits their home best.
Transparency in Pricing: We made sure to select companies that are upfront about their costs with no hidden fees. It’s great when companies provide clear, detailed estimates right from the start.
Speed and Efficiency: Time is valuable, so we focused on companies known for completing jobs efficiently without cutting corners. The companies we picked are great at getting the job done right—and fast.
Warranty and Guarantees: We also looked for companies that stand behind their work with solid warranties. A good guarantee means the company is confident in the quality of their insulation, and you can rest easy knowing you’re covered if something goes wrong.

1. EcoRenov

One thing we liked about EcoRenov is their relatively lower prices but still maintaining high-quality materials. For one, we found that the caulk they use for insulation can withstand temperatures of -20°C.

Additionally, their relationship with their supplier allows them to receive quality products at a much lower price. This makes the overall service cheaper for their clients.

The whole process was also easy, starting off with a detailed quote that you can get within a few hours. Once a client commits, they immediately assess the attic situation and recommend which type of insulations to go for, like cellulose, blown wool, and urethane.

We also like how efficient they are. They can finish a job within 2 weeks (still depends on how big your attic is, but this is standard time). On top of that, they also take the time to do post-installation inspections to check for any issues.

The only downside is that they have some scheduling issues, such as failing to meet the clients at the agreed time of the installation. But to be fair, the issues aren’t major and recurring, so we still have a bit of faith in their promptness.

Pros

  • Cheaper prices
  • Wide range of insulation materials
  • Eco-friendly
  • Attentive staff
  • Offers financial assistance
  • Wide-variety of insulation-related services

Cons

  • Minor issues with scheduling

Professional and communicates well

“EcoRenov did removal of old vermiculite insulation in the attic, decontamination, and re-insulation. They also installed new soffits. Their work was very well done. Very professional. Communication with the office was excellent.”

What stood out about Smart Seal is their more than 15 years of experience in the business. Even more, their focus on eco-friendly services won us over.

One of their eco-friendly insulation options is their Sprayed Polyurethane Foam made from recycled plastics and vegetable oil. It’s the perfect insulation for non-mainstream-looking attics due to its flexibility and easy application.

Apart from this, we also appreciate the range of insulation materials they have. They also have cellulose insulation which is perfect for northern weather and can be fitted into various cavities.

Clients also spoke about their meticulous approach. They don’t finish a job until their clients are 100% satisfied. They even do a comprehensive final check before having the client look into the results.

As for communication, they reply to queries within 24 hours. The promptness is reflected in their work too as the majority of their projects often get done earlier than their estimated timeline.

Sadly, some clients did experience some unprofessionalism when we talked to one of their staff, which affected our initial impression of them. However, they expressed their apologies and ensured that it never happens again.

Pros

  • 15 years of experience
  • Eco-friendly materials used
  • Long-lasting installations
  • Mold resistant insulations
  • Insulations fit northern weather
  • Fast turnaround time
  • Meticulous inspections

Cons

  • Issues with professionalism

While looking for a place that can offer a variety of insulations, we came across Isolation Equinoxe Plus. They offered 3 different types of insulations – cellulose, urethane, and blown bulk – to fit different types of attic.

They hold a certificate from the CNESST (Commission des normes, de l’équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail), which shows that they ensure a safe and healthy work environment.

We really liked their eco-friendly insulation solution. They use cellulose made from recycled newspapers which offers thermal comfort all year round.

The great thing about them is that they don’t only service homes, they do commercial spaces too. They can do condo units, multi-unit dwellings, and professional and commercial properties, guaranteeing that they can do the work no matter the size.

But some of their previous clients warned us about some dismissive staff refusing to answer their inquiry.

Pros

  • Wide variety of services offered
  • Certified by the CNESST
  • Eco-friendly, recycled materials
  • Quick insulation service
  • Services both residential and commercial clients

Cons

  • Issues with professionalism

Opening Hours: Open 24 hours

What impressed us about Isolation ETOC is their more than 20 years of experience in the business. This alone made us feel secure about the quality of their services.

On top of this, they’re also trusted by well-known companies such as Soprema and Huntsman.

Many of their clients really loved their sprayed polyurethane insulation. Its high thermal capacity, lightweight nature, and ability to provide effective protection against heat, cold, and sound, make it a popular choice for many.

While we usually favor a wide range of options, we also liked how straightforward ETOC was when presenting the best insulation. For instance, many clients said they help them narrow down to cheaper solutions like cellulose insulation which they specialize in.

However, we did notice that a few of their previous clients were unhappy with the finished outcome – mostly missed areas during installation. We’re happy to note though that the company is currently in the process of amending the issues.

Pros

  • More than 20 years of experience
  • Insulations fit for all budgets
  • High-quality insulations
  • Insulations that last long
  • Relatively cheaper options

Cons

  • Issues with installation quality

Great and efficient service

Systèmes Éconergie has built an excellent reputation among homeowners in Montreal. Many of their clients said they’re easy to talk to, clearly explaining each type of insulation that is perfect for the attic. And if there were some lapses in quality, they made sure to come back and fix it.

Besides this, we loved their 120-month payment period. It’s a great payment plan for those who may be tight on cash at the moment.

We were also impressed by how good they are at identifying problems. For instance, one of their clients said the team managed to see unstable heating immediately. Another said they found an existing electrical problem that others missed during the inspection.

As for the range of options, they provide insulations like blown cellulose fiber insulation, rigid foam insulation, radiant barriers, and more.

Additional services they offer are preventive measures for common problems you might face with insulation, such as ice dams, mold, and attic air leaks.
