SoumissionRenovation.ca has truly become a staple for Quebec residents since it launched in 2014. One of the main reason behind this is their approach to simplifying the renovation process.

When we talked to their customers, we heard a lot of praise about how seamless the entire process is – from the initial request to the final quote.

Their range of services is pretty extensive. They cover everything, from interior renovations like kitchens and bathrooms to outdoor projects like patios and landscaping. They even have specialised services for electrical work and plumbing.

Another feature that caught our attention is their user-friendly online cost estimator which make planning projects a breeze. We were also impressed by how easy it is to receive up to three quotes from vetted contractors with just a few clicks, all without leaving the couch.

Pros

  • Cost estimators and planning tools
  • Convenient quote process

  • A few reports of mixed experiences

Réno Montréal is truly a standout in the renovation scene, with Marc-André Lacquerre and his exceptional team at the helm.

We’ve seen their work firsthand and were impressed by their ability to transform spaces into both functional and stunning environments. Whether it’s a simple home renovation or a huge commercial project, they handle everything with remarkable finesse and attention to detail.

Their team is like a Swiss army knife of renovation experts, comprising designers, project managers, and carpenters. When tackling large-scale projects, they also bring in architects and engineers alongside other skilled tradespeople like plumbers and electricians.

We particularly appreciate their commitment to quality and legality. All their work complies with legal standards and is guaranteed for a year, with structural integrity assured for five years when an engineer’s seal is involved.

They even provide clear and precise site plans that ensure efficient time and resource management.

Their accessibility is another bonus. You can easily reach out to them through their contact form, making the initial stages of your project a breeze.

Pros

  • Quality assurance and legal compliance
  • Comprehensive project management
  • Multidisciplinary expertise
  • Easy accessibility
  • Diverse team

Cons

  • A few reports of appointment scheduling issues

Handles complex projects with skilled design and execution

“We are VERY happy with the results of our condo renovation project with Reno Montréal , which included reconfiguring the floor plan, removal of a wall, remodelling the bathroom and kitchen, new flooring and moldings, new interior doors, new windows and sliding glass doors, new appliances, and the addition of air conditioning.  All the staff were highly professional and easy to work with – even though the majority of communication and work was accomplished from a distance via Zoom, emails, and phone calls (we were not in Montréal during the majority of the work).  The design staff did an excellent job of maximising the space we had to work with, gave great suggestions for finishes and colours, and were open to our feedback and preferences.  The Reno Montréal team also responded well and creatively to the inevitable surprises, like unexpected pipes and ducts in the wall we wanted to remove.  Because we were not in Montréal during the renovation, Reno Montréal also took on the task of coordinating with appliance dealers and a wall-bed company, and were even willing to accept deliveries of the appliances that were delayed by supply-chain issues.  In several cases, members of our Reno Montréal team made themselves available even while on holiday.  We give special thanks to Ron Seguin, the project coordinator, and to all the staff who had a hand in our renovation project along the way.  We highly recommend them!”

Stands out with a personal approach and post-project follow-up

“Very impressed with the whole team!  Professional, punctual and on budget.  I had a very long-term project which they were able to help me with.  The initial visit they gave really struck a chord with me, very warm and personal service compared to the other companies I had seen before.  I would absolutely recommend them for anyone looking for a headache-free experience.  Even after the work was done, they had a small follow up with me.  The quality of their work definitely showed through, I had many great compliments from friends and family after seeing the renovations!”

Construction J.G. Lessard & Fils Inc. has been a cornerstone in the construction and renovation industry since 1974, earning them a well-deserved spot on our list.

This family-run business has been our go-to for commercial, industrial, and residential projects. We love that they handle everything from new builds and expansions to post-disaster renovations and decontamination efforts.

What really impressed us was their team of about 60 skilled professionals who could bring any vision to life. They cover all the bases, whether it’s masonry, industrial maintenance, or their unique focus on heritage building restoration.

Talking to some of their clients, we heard nothing but praise for their expertise in preserving the charm of historical structures while also updating them for modern use.

  • Four decades of experience

  • A team of 60 professionals
  • Efficient communication

Cons

  • Some reports of slow project progress

Provides seamless project management and customer satisfaction

“We recommend this contractor without reservation. We had exceptional service, very clean and high-quality work despite the constraints of a condominium building that imposes many restrictions. Work after a water disaster, the schedule and costs were respected. I recommend Veronique as a project manager. No negative points with this contractor. We are very happy with this contractor.”

Sophie Morin, Google Review

Shows responsiveness and problem-solving throughout the project

“Very competent team, courteous service, reasonable price. A tree fell on our house during the ice storm in April 2023, perforating the roof membrane affecting the waterproofing. The exterior staircase, the brick wall, painting and earthworks requiring repair. They were flexible and managed to get the work done on time. What I noticed is the work ethic as well as the good humour between colleagues and the different contractors. Obviously confident, experienced people who love what they do. A 2nd generation family business. Stephane Lessard and Philippe Lessard were very responsive throughout the project, which on several occasions required good reflections and solutions. I recommend them.”

Their service area is pretty broad. They also serve those in West Island, Laval, and South Shore, making them accessible to a wide range of clients.

Plus, they offer free estimates, which is a great way for potential clients to explore options without any upfront costs.

Exhibits kindness and patience throughout large-scale projects

“We had a very positive experience working with the team at DCR Construction. They design and built my office from A to Z where we really happy with the professionalism and quality of the work done. Everyone said the contractors would go over budget and over time, but that was not at all our experience! The tradespeople were all very professional did high quality work. We appreciated the kindness and patience the DCR Construction team always showed us as we tackled this huge project. Great results! Highly recommended, and will use again.”

Djibrine Adoum, Google Review

Avoids slowing down at the project’s end, unlike many competitors

“DCR Construction is the best. For renovations, construction projects and any work to be done on my home there is only one company I know I can trust: DCR Construction. Theirs is a dedicated and passionate team, which pays great attention to detail and is responsive to the finish line and beyond. I highly recommend. In these types of projects, the most important aspect is the final outcome and this is where most companies fail in my experience; they slow down or stop when the majority of the work is done and then they move on to the next big and more lucrative project.  DCR Construction is different; they shine in the follow through. Highly recommended and will continue using.”

“I called Daniel Dargis to get information on work done on my property by my neighbour’s contractor. It was the first time I spoke to Daniel. He was generous with his time and clearly explained to me all the documents and services that I was entitled to request from the contractor in question. His recommendations reassured me enormously and guided me to make the right decision.”

Simplifies complex information

“Incredible overall service. First off, Daniel returned my call within 48 hours and was at my house that same day. Vast professional knowledge explained in a very simple way. He really adapted to my level of understanding. He took the time to patiently answer all of my questions and went above and beyond with explanations of things I didnt even realise. I am a business advisor and I would say this level of service, experience, and professionalism is not easy to come by these days. Amazing!”
