The 5 clinics with the best physical therapy in Montreal so you can move and feel better
After all the hustle we put into work and daily life, it’s no surprise our bodies sometimes start sending us pain signals. And if popping ibuprofen isn’t cutting it anymore, maybe it’s time to explore another solution—hello, physical therapy.
Montreal has no shortage of clinics that can help, and ignoring the problem isn’t doing you any favours. To save you the headache, we’ve rounded up the best spots in the city.
Here are the best physical therapy services we think are worth checking out.
How much does a physical therapy session cost in Montreal?
A private physical therapy session in Montreal usually costs between CAD 50 and CAD 120. Those with initial evaluations tend to be on the higher end.
How we chose the best physical therapy services in Montreal
1. Nxt Generation PHYSIO Montreal

Address: 4800 Rue Saint-Ambroise, Suite 100P
Phone: +1 833-474-9746
Business hours:
- Monday to Thursday: 8 AM – 9 PM
- Friday to Saturday: 8 AM – 8 PM
- Sunday: 8 AM – 5 PM
Nxt Generation PHYSIO Montreal is a performance-focused clinic. They dig deep into biomechanics, technique, and movement patterns.
It’s the kind of place where your running form gets just as much attention as your injury itself.
We liked how they prioritise understanding the why behind an issue. Their therapists don’t rush, and they explain things in a way that makes you feel like you’re part of the process.
Clients mentioned how helpful it was when the therapist walked them through what was going on and why certain exercises mattered.
They’re also committed to hands-on therapy. They rely on manual techniques rather than plugging you into machines and leaving you there.
The biggest issue we picked up on is their follow-up scheduling. It sounds like an appointment can take a while.
By the time some clients return, therapists don’t always remember the details of the case.
Despite this hiccup, their strengths make a big impact. We say they work well with athletes, mainly because they expect you to be involved, engaged, and ready to put in the work.
I’ve been able to see positive results in a short amount of time
“My experience with Nxt Generation Physio has been amazing so far. They take care of me really well, and I’ve been able to see positive results in a short amount of time. I’ve had the chance to work with Dominic, and he’s been really good. His explanations are detailed and well-explained. The staff has also been great to me, and it’s always fun to go somewhere where people are actually passionate about what they do. I’m excited to keep working with them.”

Everyone I dealt with was very professional & knowledgeable
“My experience with MVT+ has been great from beginning to end. I had personal concerns relating to my knee, and through a series of consultations & exercises provided, I have improved. Those concerns (pains) are now a thing of the past. Everyone I dealt with was very professional & knowledgeable.”

2. AMS Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation Centre

Address: 5950 Chem. de la Côte-des-Neiges #240
Phone: +1 514-731-5555
Business hours:
- Monday: 8 AM – 6 PM
- Tuesday: 8 AM – 7 PM
- Wednesday: 8 AM – 6 PM
- Thursday: 8 AM – 7 PM
- Friday: 8 AM – 6 PM
- Saturday to Sunday: Closed
AMS Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation Centre operates more like a multidisciplinary hub than a standard physio practice. They lean heavily into collaboration.
The space is shared by registered physicians, massage therapists, and physios who speak the same rehab-focused language. Even acupuncturists are present.
For people dealing with complex musculoskeletal issues, that kind of diversity is a lifeline.
The care they provide is personalised. One person talked about how her physiotherapist explained everything clearly and built a plan that felt real and sustainable.
Another shared that his therapist guided him both pre- and post-op, tailoring programs that helped minimise muscle loss and speed up functional recovery.
Technique-wise, they seem to embrace evidence-based methods like the McKenzie Method or the Mulligan Concept.
Clinics that invest in these approaches usually signal two things: they prioritise structured assessment, and they aren’t stuck in generic exercises.
But even strong clinics have weak spots, and for AMS, it’s their online booking system.
Several people reported glitches. It’s frustrating when you book an appointment, show up, and learned the booking was never actually processed.
I’m fully recovered thanks to all the wonderful staff at AMS
“I had very painful sciatica, and now I’m fully recovered, no more sciatic pain attacks! Thanks to all the wonderful staff at AMS, from the front desk to the doctor and all the PTs, especially John. His professionalism and knowledge were one of the key factors in my recovery. Kudos to all of you!”

The progress I’ve made with him feels real and lasting
“I’ve been going to AMS Clinic Côte-des-Neiges for physiotherapy, and I’ve had a great experience—especially thanks to Moshe Vazana, who’s been outstanding. He’s extremely knowledgeable, patient, and attentive. Moshe really takes the time to understand your specific issue and builds a clear, personalised plan to help you recover. He explains everything in a way that makes sense and makes sure you’re comfortable with the exercises. Most importantly, the progress I’ve made with him feels real and lasting.”

Our team took a closer look at Physio Steve, led by Steve Procter. He has over 20 years of combined experience in physiotherapy, physiology, and personal training.
With this, he has built a practice that’s designed for people who want more than just a quick fix for musculoskeletal issues.
One recurring theme in patient feedback is their ability to manage complex or long-standing conditions.
For example, several patients mentioned that problems lingering for years—including herniated discs and chronic back pain—were improved after following his structured programs.
We love how he explains the underlying mechanics of your condition and guides you through a strategic recovery plan.
From what we observed, he’s particularly strong in treating muscle, tendon, ligament, and joint issues.
Booking and logistics are also good. His scheduling system is convenient.
That said, a few feedback mentioned the cancellation and payment policies as a downside. Advance payments can be taken without explicit permission, and last-minute cancellations incur a $70 fee.
He’s genuinely one of the best healthcare professionals
“I’ve been seeing Physio Steve for a while now, and I can’t recommend him highly enough. He’s genuinely one of the best healthcare professionals I’ve ever encountered. I’ve had a number of different issues, including persistent pain in both my elbows, my left shoulder, and my right knee. What’s really impressive is that some of these were chronic problems that had been lingering for years, and he’s been instrumental in finally getting them resolved…”

4. PHYSIOVERSAL

Address: 6830 Av du Parc Suite 100 (1st floor, 6830 Park Ave Unité 100)
Phone: +1 514-531-9049
Business hours:
- Monday: 9 AM – 7 PM
- Tuesday to Thursday: 9 AM – 5 PM
- Friday: 9 AM – 7 PM
- Saturday: 9 AM – 5 PM
- Sunday: Closed
Inclusivity is what we loved about Physioversal. Everyone’s welcome here, whether you’re a toddler trying out your first stretches or a weekend warrior with a sprain.
They seem to have an approach that makes care available to a broad range of clients.
Accessibility is another win. Patients have reported that the team can secure urgent appointments within 24 hours, even when online slots are full, six days a week.
Their ability to prescribe RAMQ-covered X-rays within 72 hours post-trauma is also an advantage.
This removes the usual wait associated with emergency rooms. It’s very helpful if you like your injuries diagnosed quickly.
The range of services is impressive too. They cover musculoskeletal, pelvic and perineal, pediatric, and sport physiotherapy—you name it.
We also noticed that the staff here are always praised for their positive attitude, friendliness, and diligent follow-up practices.
But here’s the catch: 30-minute sessions can feel like a speed run. Several clients mentioned that while it’s enough to learn a few stretches, it’s not quite long enough for a full-on routine.
With the volume of clients they handle, it sometimes feels like the team could use a few more hands on deck.
The service was great every time
“I have been in the clinic for a few different problems over the past 2 years, and every time the service was great. Recently, Chandani was the physiotherapist who took care of me, and she’s a wonderful person and professional. Always received me with a smile and a positive attitude, which helped the recovery process. Also, her approach allowed me to share my concerns and understand very clearly my problem and the proposed solution.”

They’re knowledgeable, caring, and truly invested in your recovery
“I’ve had an amazing experience. They’re knowledgeable, caring, and truly invested in your recovery. I felt better with each session and always left feeling motivated.”

5. Kinatex Sports Physio Downtown

Address: 1538 Sherbrooke St W, Suite 600
Phone: +1 514-939-1416
Business hours:
- Monday to Thursday: 8 AM – 8 PM
- Friday: 8 AM – 4 PM
- Saturday to Sunday: Closed
First off, we appreciate how Kinatex Sports Physio’s staff speak multiple languages—French, English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Arabic.
It might sound small, but being able to actually understand what your physiotherapist is saying is a huge deal.
They’re all about precise manual therapy techniques, like mobilisation, manipulation, and muscle control exercises.
One patient shared her experience with us. Even though she was the last appointment of the evening, Minh (her physiotherapist) didn’t rush things.
He listened carefully, diagnosed after a few sessions, and provided exercises to not only fix the issue but also prevent it from coming back.
They also offer other specialised services like postural re-education, myofascial release, pelvic floor care, and more.
From what we gathered, their strong points are personalised care and effective long-term rehab. They’re perfect for people who want real results and don’t mind putting in a little work with the exercises at home.
On the flip side, the admin side seems a bit lacking. One person mentioned trying multiple times to get in touch with the secretary, with no luck.
Awesome man and an awesome place
“Great place. The physios really know what they’re doing. I had a physio rehab me through my spinal injury long ago, and another for my torn ACL and after my knee reconstruction surgery. Minh Tam is absolutely wonderful! Really knows what he’s doing and cares about teaching you everything thoroughly. He really goes the extra mile and even kept asking about me even after I left Canada. Oh, and he is the best at dry needling as well! Awesome man and an awesome place”

The service was excellent from start to finish
“I went to Kinatex Physio Downtown for a treatment and had an amazing experience. The service was excellent from start to finish. Minh was incredible, very professional, knowledgeable, and really helped treat my issue. They even referred me to an orthopedist within their clinic, which made the whole process so smooth. Highly recommend!”
