An older home is much easier to restore when you can find fireplace mantels, wrought-iron gates, stained-glass windows, and period hardware in one place.
Spazio Antiquités Architecturales stands out for their wide selection of interior and exterior architectural salvage. You can also browse solid chests, bookcases, and tables that add character to any room.
Last spring, we spoke with a local contractor while looking at the shop’s marble, slate, and wood mantels. He told us that the period fixtures had been a great help during his Victorian home renovation.
They also carry antique lighting fixtures and iron railings that look impressive up close. Many of these pieces feel solid and durable, which suits the character of older properties.
But remember, they focus on historical furniture and architectural features rather than small decorative items. To add, they’re closed on Sundays and Mondays.
It’s a godsend
Their focus on architectural antiques means they’ve got an incredible selection of stained glass, doors, hardware, etc. If you’re someone like me that’s trying to de-“2011 ikea” a 1930’s home, it’s a godsend. Frank and Alessandro are lovely folks – helpful, knowledgeable and friendly.
