Mend the cracks with the best marriage counselling services in Montreal
Even in romantic Montreal, relationships aren’t always picture-perfect.

We’ve rounded up Montreal’s top marriage therapists to help you navigate the ups and downs of your relationship. So, whether you’re bickering over the thermostat or facing a deeper challenge, there’s support available.
How much does marriage counselling cost in Montreal?
On average, marriage counselling costs $115 per hour in Montreal. However, the price may change depending on factors like the therapist’s specialisation, the location of the clinic, or whether sessions are conducted in person or online.
How We Chose
1. Divan bleu Montréal

Location: 1150 Bd Saint-Joseph E suite 108

Operating hours:
- Monday to Saturday – 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM
Divan Bleu in Montréal really caught our attention, and it’s easy to see why. Bianca Saia and her team aren’t just about ticking boxes—they’re genuinely helping couples connect on a deeper level.
To get a sense of how effective they are, we booked an appointment incognito.
What stood out was the immediate care they took in understanding our concerns, using tailored approaches like the Non-Directive Creative Approach (ANDC) and the Gottman Method.
These techniques work wonders in addressing communication issues, offering real solutions instead of just surface-level advice.
We love how they’re also mindful of non-traditional relationships, like polyamory, showing real thoughtfulness in their care.
What also stood out is their pricing. It starts at $110, which is a nice break compared to some other options.
It’s also great that they offer services in French, Spanish, Portuguese and English.
However, we did hear from a few clients—and noticed ourselves— that communication with some bilingual therapists could be a bit tricky due to limited English proficiency, so that’s worth considering.
Now if you’re busy? No worries. They’re flexible with appointments – weekly, bi-weekly, or whenever you need.
Oh, and you can easily book online, which makes everything hassle-free.
Offers couples coaching that rebuilds communion quickly
“My partner and I followed couples coaching with therapist Yannick. We were in great need of resolving our differences and thanks to his guidance, we regained our communion – and in a short time! Yannick was able to make us feel at ease to make the journey easier and helped us pinpoint our current and stagnant problems. His proposed techniques really spoke to us and we came out stronger and well-equipped to face future problems. Thank you very much Yannick. PS his book is excellent too.”

Operating hours:
- Monday to Friday – 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Montreal Therapy Centre has been around since 2003. After booking a session ourselves, we’ve really come to appreciate how they’ve helped couples tackle everything from communication struggles to intimacy issues.
What impressed us during the session was the therapists’ ability to work with a variety of relationship dynamics, whether you’re married or dating.
Plus, they offer both premarital counselling and guidance through those more challenging moments in a relationship, like discussions about separation.
What we like most is how flexible their pricing is. Their $170 per session is pretty standard, but they offer sliding scale fees as low as $115.
This is a huge relief for households earning less than $85,000. It’s this kind of consideration that we really value.
For those who can’t make it in person or have busy schedules, their online therapy is a great alternative. We tried it ourselves and found the secure video chat just as effective, offering the same level of top-notch support.
Leaves clients eager to return for another enjoyable experience
“Good and friendly service it feels like I want to come back to this place to enjoy a beautiful day and relax with my husband. Hopefully soon.”

RISE Clinic really grabbed our attention with their flexible, client-focused approach.
After booking an initial session, it became clear to us that they can handle everything from rekindling romance to tackling communication issues with care and precision.
We liked that they offer both in-person and online sessions, which is super handy for anyone with a packed schedule. Sure, their rates are a bit steep – $275 for 60 minutes and $375 for 90 – but it’s clear you’re getting top-tier care.

Location: 4573 Rue Sherbrooke O #200, Westmount
Contact: +1 514-928-9927
Operating hours:
- Monday to Friday – 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Adrienne Durst has over 20 years of experience, and we were really impressed by her expertise in helping couples work through tough relationship issues.
After participating in a session without revealing our identities, we can confidently say she’s all about creating better communication and understanding—key qualities we look for in a great therapist.
At $250 per session, it’s definitely an investment. However, her flexibility with both in-person and online sessions makes it more convenient for busy couples.
What we really like is her focus on breaking down negative patterns and tackling issues like infidelity, communication breakdowns, and emotional disconnection.
She tailors her approach using methods like Family Systems Therapy, which examines how family dynamics shape behaviour. She also utilizes Attachment-Based Therapy, which focuses on strengthening emotional bonds.
These methods ensure couples receive personalised support suited to their unique needs.
The option for teletherapy is also a huge plus for those with hectic schedules or travel commitments. We just wish booking appointments was more straightforward—having her own website would make things a lot smoother!
Helps both partners feel equally understood and valued
“It’s not easy to find a therapist with whom you click. Adrienne is the one for me. She is anything but professional and a fantastic listener. I’m currently doing couple therapy. As if by magic, but really through her years of knowledge and experience, she finds just the right words and tone for our conversations so we both feel equally heard and understood. I genuinely look forward to these sessions.”

Becomes an essential and supportive figure in clients’ lives
“Adrienne is a gem. She is such an empathetic and well attuned therapist that offers great advice and tools. She truly wants the best for her clients and you can feel that in every session. She has a great sense of calm and comfort about her that makes you quickly trust her and dive into the process. I’ve been seeing her for less than a year now and I can honestly say that she’s helped me a great deal. We all need an Adrienne in our lives!”

5. François Renaud – Sexologue & Psychothérapeute
![francois-renaud](https://www.bestinmtl.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/francois-renaud-1024x576.jpg)
Location: 372 Saint-Catherine St W #532
Contact: +1 438-934-1287
Operating hours:
- Monday to Friday – 9:00 AM to 8:30 PM
- Saturday to Sunday – 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
François Renaud really stood out to us with his focus on intimacy and sexual health in relationships, which isn’t something you always find in traditional therapy.
In hopes of gaining deeper insight into his practice, we booked an appointment with him ourselves. This way, we could assess his methods firsthand and ensure that our recommendations are backed by genuine experience.
While we didn’t seek marriage counselling specifically, going undercover allowed us to witness his skill in action.
One aspect that particularly stood out was how we didn’t feel judged during our sessions, allowing us to explore sensitive topics with ease.
We heard that this judgement-free environment helped his other clients work through tough issues like emotional disconnect or infidelity.
His sessions, ranging from $115 to $120 for 50 minutes, are reasonably priced compared to other options. His flexibility with in-person and online consultations is also a big plus.
If you’re looking for a therapist who takes a holistic approach to rekindling both emotional and sexual intimacy, François might just be the right fit. Plus, booking online makes everything that much easier.
However, we did come across reports from some clients about being misgendered during sessions, which raises concerns about inclusivity.
Takes the time to engage in interviews and educational efforts
“Very good sexologist, took the trouble to do an interview with us as part of a course at CEGEP. Was complete in his answers and had a good command of the subject, romantic relationships. Thanks again for the time given!”
Megan Lynch, Google Review
Leaves a lasting impression with genuine and open communication
“Thank you very much for the time you gave us. The interview was very enriching and we were able to learn more about the profession of sexologist/therapist. We really appreciated your frankness and your authenticity and we wish you good luck.”
