3. Montreal Martial Arts – Arts Martiaux Patenaude Montréal

montreal-martial-arts-arts-martiaux-patenaude-montr-al

Website: https://montreal.patenaudemartialarts.com/
Address: 6968 Rue Saint-Denis

Contact: (514) 276-2701
Schedule: Monday, 6:00 PM–9:30 PM; Wednesday, 6:00 PM–9:00 PM; Saturday, 9:00 AM–2:00 PM

Montreal Martial Arts Patenaude stands out as a family-friendly school that brings together traditional Kung Fu, fast-paced kickboxing, and practical grappling.

The school keeps children’s classes organised by age, with groups starting from age four so younger students can learn at a comfortable pace.

Parents can even join dedicated parent-child sessions, giving families a fun way to train together and stay active.

For newcomers, the school offers a generous seven-day all-access introductory pass. That gives you time to try different striking and grappling classes before committing to a membership.

The one thing to consider is how the adult classes are structured. Kung Fu/ self-defense, kickboxing, and grappling are generally taught as all-level sessions rather than separate beginner and advanced groups. That can be great if you like training alongside people with different experience levels, but complete newcomers who prefer a dedicated fundamentals class may want a more level-specific setup.

Pros

  • Seven-day all-access introductory pass available
  • Children’s classes split into specific age groups
  • Training covers both striking and grappling
  • Saturday schedule serves children and adults

Cons

  • Adult martial arts classes are generally all-level rather than split into dedicated beginner and advanced groups.

Fantastic Martial Arts school!

Fantastic Martial Arts school! I began coming here with my daughter last year as a way to spend quality time and to learn a new skill. The experience has been nothing short of amazing. I’m in much better shape now than I have been in years and have a lot more energy and focus. Sibok is a dedicated teacher who will encourage and inspire you to be the best version of yourself. Everyone in the school is respectful and welcoming. Strongly recommend for all ages, my only regret is not starting earlier.

A wonderful place to learn martial arts

A wonderful place to learn martial arts. Our two boys love it and are progressing with passion thanks to the patient, competent, and enthusiastic instructors. Each child is known individually and learns at their own pace. A gem!

I highly recommend this martial Arts school!

I highly recommend this martial Arts school!

At this time of review there are two classes being provided; Nintai Ryu Aiki-jujitsu and Kosen Judo. The school itself is kept nice and clean.

The Nintai teachers are outstanding who know their craft and are all in good physical condition. The students are all helpful and are eager to learn solid fighting skills. Having classes open to all 6 days/week is really convenient to match most anyone’s schedule.

The Nintai Ryu Aiki-jujitsu system itself is a well rounded style. It’s steeped in Japanese tradition but kept modern and relevant…
