How We Reviewed

Safety Protocols: We checked how each business screens its staff and handles house keys. Walkers must have clear emergency plans to keep your pet secure.
Pack Management: We looked at how many dogs are walking together at once. Smaller, well-managed groups mean your pup gets proper attention and avoids overwhelming situations.
Pricing and Fees: We compared base rates against hidden surcharges for things like weekend visits. Transparent pricing helps you budget your pet care without nasty surprises.
Caregiver Expertise: We prioritised teams with actual training in dog behaviour and pet first aid. Knowing your walker can handle unexpected issues gives you real peace of mind.

Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Saturday-Sunday, 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM, 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Les Anges Gardiennes Pet Care NDG takes your dog’s safety and health seriously. Every walker passes a criminal record check before handling a leash, giving you extra peace of mind from the start.

You’ll get live photos and check-ins during the day, while coded lockboxes and anonymous labels help keep your house keys secure. Their staff is also trained to handle emergencies, so they know what to do if something goes wrong during a walk.

Plus, they have veterinary nursing support, which means their team has extra medical knowledge for dogs with specialised health needs.

However, you’ll still pay the full cancellation fee if your dog gets sick and you keep them home. New dogs must also complete a private walk trial before joining regular group walks, which can make the sign-up process take longer.

Pros

  • Rigorous background screening
  • Anonymous lockbox key storage
  • On-staff veterinary tech support
  • Live photo progress updates

Cons

  • Full sickness cancellation charges
  • Mandatory private trial required

Walks & Wags brings over 15 years of hands-on experience to Montreal neighbourhoods. Their bonded team works every day of the year to help keep your pet’s routine steady.

One client we spoke with loves that they cap group walks at five dogs, which keeps outings calm and easy to manage.

Each group walk includes at least 45 minutes of actual exercise on local trails. Plus, walkers pair dogs based on their energy levels and temperaments, creating a more comfortable group where your dog can enjoy the walk.

But watch for extra fees, since weekend visits come with a mandatory surcharge, and key pickup also costs extra. These small charges can add up quickly, especially if you need regular weekend walks.

Pros

  • Over 15 years of experience
  • Strict five-dog pack limit
  • 365-day year-round service
  • Thoughtful pack temperament matching

Cons

  • Extra fees for weekends
  • Key handover surcharges apply

My doggies adore her and she is always accommodating

Amazing dog walking services! Christina is very trustworthy and takes such good care of my pups. My doggies adore her and she is always accommodating when I need to add a walk to my schedule. Thank you for the amazing care you give my fur babies!!

Very professional, well trained in safety, responsive and understanding

We have been long time customers of this amazing pet sitting service!! They are truly the best and have made our life with pets so much easier.  They had taken care of our old cat for many years (when we were away) and also came to walk our doggo on many occasions.  Very professional, well trained in safety, responsive and understanding about how much we love our pets and get anxious about leaving them!   Thank you Walks & Wags!

3. Montreal Dog Club

Address: 950 R. Notre Dame O

Contact: [email protected]

Hours: Available 24/7

Montreal Dog Club stands out by giving 100% of their service fees directly to caregivers. This pay structure helps attract dedicated professionals to look after your pup.

Now, they focus on one-on-one sessions instead of crowded group walks, so your dog gets attention based on their needs and personality. Plus, every handler is certified in pet first aid and canine behaviour, giving you extra peace of mind.

They can also provide specialised support for dogs dealing with severe separation anxiety.

Sadly, their service area is fairly limited, with most caregivers based around Griffintown and Downtown Montreal.

Additionally, their manual matching process makes last-minute bookings difficult, so you’ll need to plan your walks ahead of time.

Pros

  • Fair caregiver pay structure
  • Certified first aid handlers
  • Exclusively private walking sessions
  • Specialised anxiety behaviour support

Cons

  • Limited to central neighbourhoods
  • Difficult last-minute booking

Above all that, he sent photos every few hours

Rohit is absolutely the best. I was nervous dropping my dog off, but he came back tired both days! Rohit took the time to walk him and play with him. Above all that, he sent photos every few hours to show me how Loki was doing. Cannot recommend Rohit enough. 💜🐶

We highly recommend Montreal Dog Club for dog daycare, dog sitting and dog walking

Supporting our fellow dog loving partner business against bullies. We highly recommend Montreal Dog Club for dog daycare, dog sitting and dog walking. We always recommend clients to each other because we care about our shared community, unlike some greedy businesses ruining the vibes. Sending pawsitive energy! 🐶 🫶🏾

Address: 2157 Rue de Châteauguay

Hours: Monday-Friday, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

WAGGING TAILS MTL is a great fit for energetic pups that need plenty of room to run. Regular weekly clients get access to a secure private dog park, giving dogs a safe place to burn off extra energy.

One client we spoke with tried their service last year and said their dog loved exploring the agility field. The handlers also limit group outings to a few dogs, making each walk safer and easier to manage.

For dogs that need extra help, they offer private sessions focused on basic leash manners. These solo walks can build confidence before a dog joins a larger group.

Plus, they offer quick 15-minute relief visits for senior dogs with lower stamina.

However, park access is only available to regular weekly clients. Dogs also need solid leash skills to join group walks, so those with poor leash manners may need extra training first.

Pros

  • Controlled small group sizes
  • Exclusive private park access
  • Short visits for seniors
  • Dedicated leash manners training

Cons

  • Park access requires weekly commitment
  • Strict behavioural group prerequisites

They babysit and will help you organize what’s best for your dog

Wagging tails mtl is a team of amazing dog walkers. They are super organized and you can rely on them every day. I was super nervous to get a dog because I work long hours but wagging tails has taken care of my little puppy from a couple months old giving me piece of mind. While they walk your dog you can see if they peed or pooped and you often get a really cute pic of your smiling pup! They not only help with walks, but they babysit and will help you organize what’s best for you dog

I never have to worry when Hops is in her care

Wagging Tails has been our go-to since we adopted Hops in 2019. Hops can be quite stubborn and selective about who walks him, but he absolutely adores Britt! She’s dependable, hardworking, and incredibly trustworthy. I never have to worry when Hops is in her care.

With every walk, you receive an update, a photo, a map of the route, and pick-up and drop-off times.

I’ve recommended Wagging Tails to so many dog-parents!

5. Wiggle Dog Walks

Website: wiggledogwalks.com

Address: 828 Rue Rachel E

Contact: 514-809-6562 | [email protected]

Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Wiggle Dog Walks relies entirely on positive reinforcement to help your pet navigate city streets safely. They even offer a free initial consultation with a senior walker to answer your questions.

Their puppy preparation visits tackle early socialisation hurdles before fears can set in. Handlers slowly introduce new dogs to packs by having them shadow existing groups from a distance.

Best of all, families with multiple pets get a substantial discount on their second dog.

But know that you’ll need a flexible daily schedule to use this service. The team admits that strict punctuality can be difficult to promise due to pack logistics.

Additionally, they suspend regular daytime coverage on several major statutory holidays, so you’ll need a backup plan for long weekends.

Pros

  • Positive reinforcement training methods
  • Specialised puppy socialisation visits
  • Multi-dog household rate discounts
  • Free senior walker consultation

Cons

  • Unpredictable daily arrival times
  • Closed on major statutory holidays

Everyone I interacted with was kind and cared deeply about dogs

Really fantastic service. I used Wiggle for approximately six months when I was living in their service area and only stopped because I moved. I absolutely loved their service. Everyone i interacted with was kind and cared deeply about dogs. Rodrigo in particular is a joy to deal with and he is incredibly patient with my dog, he sat on the floor with her and allowed her to get comfortable with him, moving at her speed. Lastly, they finish every walk with one (or several) photos of your dog on the walk, which is an adorable touch.

They are very careful to match dogs that are on group walks

If you’re looking for a walker you would be silly not to use these guys! They’re prices are competitive, so that’s already excellent, but they truly care, and that is priceless.

They are very careful to match dogs that are on group walks and follow any direction that you give concerning entry to your house etc.

When my dog was sick they took her for free to help cover the vet bills (obviously I would ever expect that in every case and it was very costly but still).
