The 5 Best Dog Boarding Services in Montreal for Stress-Free Pup Sleepovers

Leaving your dog behind during a vacation or business trip is always tough. You worry if your furry friend will feel anxious or get enough exercise while you travel.

Fortunately, our city offers fantastic care options to put your mind at ease. You might need a cage-free luxury hotel for a pampered pup or a private sitter for a senior dog.

Either way, finding the perfect fit is totally possible. Now, read on to meet the best dog boarding in Montreal so you can pack your bags without any guilt!

How much does dog boarding cost in Montreal?

In Montreal, professional dog boarding typically costs between $32 and $85 Canadian Dollars (CAD) per night, depending on the care format you choose. Premium hotel suites and specialized arrangements can cost more.

Boarding FormatAverage Price Range (CAD per night)
In-Home Boarding — Private Sitter$32–$50+; median around $42–$44
High-End Specialized Private SitterUp to $85
Commercial Dog Hotels & Kennels$55–$80

How We Reviewed

Accommodation Style: We looked for places offering distinct lodging formats like cage-free zones or private suites. Dogs have different comfort levels, so flexible environments matter.
Supervision and Safety: We compared overnight supervision arrangements and relevant pet first-aid training, rather than treating every boarding setup as the same.
Included Activities: We checked if basic rates cover playtime and mental stimulation. Places that include structured daycare, walks, or enrichment activities stood out.
Transparency and Updates: Leaving your dog is stressful without regular communication. We considered photo updates and meet-and-greet arrangements that help owners assess the fit before a stay.

1. ATD Clubhouse (Pour Tous Les Chiens)

Website: https://www.atdclubhouse.com/

Address — Clubhouse: 1800 Sainte-Catherine St E

Contact: (514) 778-2582 | [email protected]

Hours — Clubhouse: Daycare: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–7:00 PM; Boutique & Grooming: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM; Saturday, 10:00 AM–5:00 PM.

First-time dog owners looking for the right care setup will like that ATD Clubhouse offers two home-boarding options. You can choose private boarding without other pets or multi-pet boarding, where your dog can socialize with other compatible dogs.

The multi-pet option also includes regular walks and feeding, while caregivers plan rest periods to help dogs avoid getting overtired.

Private stays are built around your pet’s usual routine, making them a good option for puppies and seniors that need a quieter setup.

We spoke with a client who booked their anxious rescue here last year, and they said the one-on-one attention in a pet-free host home made a big difference.

But keep in mind that new clients can’t book right away. A mandatory Meet & Greet costs $45 CAD and must be completed before your first boarding stay.

Pros

  • Private boarding without other pets
  • Multi-pet boarding for social dogs
  • Included daily walks and feeding
  • Routines tailored for puppies and seniors

Cons

  • Mandatory paid Meet & Greet for new clients

Bear was well taken care of

…So we connected with the ATD Clubhouse and they quickly made a match to board our 5 year old Havanese Poodle near us on our travels. Our dog was born during COVID and is not well socialized with other dogs. The lovely couple who opened their home to our dog was wonderful. They had a dog and had no qualms about introducing them and making our Bear comfortable. We received updates and pictures and saw that Bear was well taken care of. Thank you – we are so grateful for the care and experience.

Most wonderful, safe, and comfortable stay-cation

I recently connected with ATD Clubhouse to board my 10-year-old dog while traveling for a long weekend. Cassidy at ATD was wonderful! Kind, professional, and incredibly responsive – she helped connect me with a home-boarding arrangement, as well, so my pup had the most wonderful, safe, and comfortable stay-cation while I was out of town. I will absolutely be working with them to arrange home-stay boarding in the future!

Small breeds can easily feel overwhelmed in large spaces, so Aristopattes focuses on boarding small and medium-sized dogs. You can choose between individual care or a free-space setup, depending on how your pet prefers to spend their time.

The property also has a fully fenced outdoor yard, giving pups plenty of room for daytime activity. Beds and bowls are provided too, so you won’t have to pack as much for their stay.

Dogs can receive individual attention or join group play based on their social needs.

However, arrivals are set for 5 to 6 p.m., while departures are from 10 to 11 a.m. Arriving early or picking up your dog late can result in extra daycare charges.

Well-treated and loved like at home

I 100% recommend it 🙂 The owners are simply amazing, super kind, passionate, and you can tell they truly love animals. They take the time to walk them, take good care of them, and give them lots of love. The place is clean, safe, and you quickly feel at ease. If you’re looking for a daycare or hotel for your dog where they’ll be well-treated and loved like at home, Aristopattes is the place for you 💖

Warm welcome for both us and Cléo

We had our little dog Cléo looked after for a week. It was the first time we’d entrusted her to strangers. A very good experience, a very warm welcome for both us and Cléo. They gave us regular updates on Cléo. Very satisfied. I highly recommend their services, truly excellent.

The staff even schedules quiet rest periods with classical music to help them relax.

Feeding follows your instructions, so your dog’s routine can stay familiar. They also send daily photo updates, giving you a fun look at what your dog gets up to while you’re away.

We spoke with a neighbour who uses the hotel when travelling, and they said the regular photo updates give them real peace of mind.

  • Quiet rest periods with classical music
  • Feeding follows owner instructions
  • Daily photo reports

Cons

  • Standard nightly bookings add a final-day daycare fee

Exceptional care, empathy, and professionalism

…Our dog stayed with them for two days, and she absolutely loved it! Because of the long travel, she was already quite tired when we arrived. Furthermore, she has osteoarthritis, so her mobility isn’t the greatest. The wonderful team here understood her medical situation perfectly. They went above and beyond to ensure she was completely comfortable, giving her plenty of love, attention, and gentle pets. We are so grateful for their exceptional care, empathy, and professionalism. They truly live up to their name as guardian angels!…

I feel that my baby is in safe hands

Morgan is absolutely the happiest little boy after his stays at Doggieville. I was nervous leaving him the first time in 2022, but after receiving his pictures throughout my trip and seeing how happy he was, it calmed my nerves. Even upon pickup, I could see he wasn’t anxious or scared of anyone around him, which was comforting as well. I feel that my baby is in safe hands when leaving him at Doggieville. Thank you always.

Dolly had the best vacation at Doggieville Montreal

Dolly had the best vacation at Doggieville Montreal. Usually she is timid, when away from home. We left her off feeling happy for her and confident that she would be taken care of beautifully. The dogs are never bored or left alone for hours. Doggieville is like a great camp for kids, our Fur kids. We looked forward to the pictures of Dolly at different activities Daily. And another great thing about camp is that they send the pups home nice and clean from a bath . Dolly was even more cuddly and delicious!

5. Montreal Dog Club

Website: https://montrealdog.club/

Address: 950 R. Notre Dame O

Contact: [email protected]

Hours: Available 24/7

Some pets really don’t enjoy noisy environments, so Montreal Dog Club focuses on private, home-based, one-on-one boarding. Instead of a kennel setup, your pet gets dedicated attention in a calm home.

They offer a free Meet & Greet beforehand to help you find a caregiver who suits your pet. Their daily routine includes walks or bathroom breaks every two to four hours. Caregivers can also help with medication, dietary needs, and limited mobility.

But for senior dogs, checking with local veterinarians before the stay can be a helpful extra step.

What we like most is that you’ll receive multiple photo, text, or video updates throughout the day.

The main limitation is that this service doesn’t offer group boarding. If your dog enjoys group play and socialization, you’ll need to consider another option.

Pros

  • One-on-one private home boarding
  • Free initial Meet & Greet
  • Walks or bathroom breaks every two to four hours
  • Medication routines and senior-dog support

Cons

  • No communal group boarding

Someone I trust to take care of him

My dog Cooper has been a bit of a challenge for other sitters before so I was a little nervous but Rohit was great! He has a very calming presence which helped a lot, and he sent me plenty of photos and took great care of my special boy. Cooper came back calm and happy. I’ve very grateful that I found someone I trust to take care of him and I would recommend Montreal Dog Club to anyone!

Amazing care he’s given our dog

We’re so grateful to Rohit for the amazing care he’s given our dog, Guinness. Since our recent move to Montreal, Guinness has been dealing with separation anxiety, so leaving him hasn’t been easy for us. Rohit sends lots of pictures an updates throughout the day to make us feel at ease :)…
