Here are the spots where we found the best VR in Montreal!

Okay, I’ll admit it. I may have a slight obsession with virtual reality. Blame it on those long, snowy Montreal winters that make escaping into a digital paradise too tempting to resist. But hey, who needs poutine and maple syrup when you can fight dragons and explore sunken treasure?

Fortunately, Montreal’s VR scene is nothing short of amazing. It’s full of crazy experiences that have been a blast to discover.

So come on, join me as I share where you can find the best VR in Montreal, and who knows, you might just discover a new obsession of your own.

Vortex Montreal

Location: 422 Ontario St E, Montreal, Quebec H2L 4J4, Canada

Contact: +1 514-907-2201

Operating hours:

  • Tuesday to Thursday – 3:30 PM to 10:00 PM
  • Friday to Saturday – 10:00 AM to 12:00 AM
  • Sunday – 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM

Website

Vortex features several VR games developed by Ubisoft, so there are a lot of graphically heavy people-pleasers in their roster. What’s nice is that they also prioritise player comfort by selecting games that minimise motion sickness – not a bad touch, as that keeps many from trying VR!

If we had to pick a standout experience here, it’s probably “Escape The Lost Pyramid VR”, which is part of the popular Assassin’s Creed universe. In this game, you and your team are sent back to February 1928 to uncover the mysteries surrounding the lost pyramid of Nebka in the Sinai Peninsula.

But if fantasy is more your style, we recommend trying their “Alice” VR game that lets you dive into Wonderland to save it from peril (no need to fall down into a well!).

MontVR – DIX30

Location: 6000 Boul. de Rome, Brossard, QC J4Y 0E3, Canada

Operating hours:

  • Monday to Thursday – 12:00 PM to 11:00 PM
  • Friday to Saturday – 10:00 AM to 12:00 AM
  • Sunday – 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM

Website

MontVR DIX30 boasts an impressive array of entertainment options. With 18 VR stations, 3 free-roaming arenas, modern arcades, axe throwing lanes, and arcade prizes – well, it has a lot, as we said.

They have a ton of VR experiences too, including VR escape rooms, free-roam VR games, and immersive gaming stations. The free-roam arenas in particular are great for immersion, allowing you to physically move around a large space while interacting with the virtual world.

Want to know what our team liked most here? It was the “Arizona Sunshine Free Roaming VR” experience. This game plunges you into a zombie apocalypse, where you and your friends must survive waves of undead. If that won’t bring people together, what will?

Zero Latency

Operating hours:

  • Monday & Wednesday to Friday – 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM

Zero Latency uses state-of-the-art VR equipment, including HP Reverb Gen2 headsets and realistic VR weapons. The advanced motion tracking and wireless setup mean you can move freely in a large arena and get some kickass gaming done.

And the game library here is packed with exclusive, award-winning titles. If you want serious action, try “Far Cry VR: Dive Into Insanity”, where you and your friends must escape from a twisted hunting game orchestrated by pirates. It’s chaotic, it’s tropical, and it’s mad fun.

VR Oversea

With graphics so sharp they’ll leave you questioning reality, this one’s for gamers and thrill-seekers alike.

The real reason to go here is if you want memorable experiences. For example, “Colony: Code Red” transports you to a high-stakes mission where you must work with your team to prevent a catastrophe and it can be a crazy ride.

Beyond the VR games, VR Oversea also offers additional entertainment options like billiards, table football, and darts. We found them nice for relaxing before and after VR sessions.

Arcade GOGO-VR

Arcade GOGO-VR offers an eclectic mix of games that cater to all tastes. From intense 1v1 combat scenarios to heart-pounding virtual F1 racing, the options are endless. Whether you’re a solo player or part of a group, you’ll find a game here that gets your adrenaline pumping.

If you crave speed and excitement, though, “Virtual F1 Racing” is the one to try. You’ll race an F1 car at breakneck speeds, all from the safety of your VR headset. It offers a hyper-realistic racing experience, complete with the twists and turns of a real Formula 1 track.

Plus, every Friday night, they throw a free-play party where you can indulge in all their arcade and console games without spending a dime. Who said the best things in life aren’t free?

Game Zone VR

Operating hours:

  • Tuesday to Thursday – 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM
  • Friday – 2:00 PM to 10:00 AM
  • Saturday – 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM
  • Sunday – 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM

Website

With a wide variety of experiences ranging from kid-friendly adventures to heart-pounding action, this one’s the perfect place for a family outing or a group of friends looking for a unique bonding experience.

Their VR escape rooms in particular are a masterclass in cooperative fun and puzzle-solving. Work together to outsmart the virtual world and escape before time runs out. Just try not to get too caught up in the virtual drama!

If you love a good scare and a lot of action, though, their “Zombie Survival” game is probably what you’ll want to try instead. You’ll still need teamwork and strategy to survive… just against hordes of undead in a post-apocalyptic world this time.

Sandbox VR

Media from sandboxvr

Location: 48 Brunswick Blvd, Pointe-Claire, Quebec H9R 4W3, Canada

Contact: +1 514-360-1045

Operating hours:

  • Monday to Thursday – 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM
  • Friday – 1:00 PM to 12:00 AM
  • Saturday – 10:30 AM to 12:00 AM
  • Sunday – 10:30 AM to 10:00 PM

Website

Sandbox VR offers a full-body VR experience that uses haptic feedback suits and motion-tracking technology. This means you don’t just see and hear the virtual world—you feel it through vibrations and thumps!

There are seven different games to choose from here and most are winners. Whether you’re battling aliens in “Amber Sky 2088”, hunting for treasure in “Curse of Davy Jones”, or fighting off zombies in “Deadwood Mansion”, each game is a blast.

But for an intense, heart-pounding adventure, we highly recommend “Deadwood Mansion”. This game plunges you into a mansion overrun by zombies, where you must work with your team to survive and find a way out.
