How We Reviewed

Menu Creativity and Variety: We paid close attention to how each chef mixes traditional sushi techniques with modern or local flavours. The best omakase should surprise you, but still respect the basics of great sushi.
Ingredient Quality and Sourcing: Freshness is key when it comes to raw fish, so we focused on places that get their seafood straight from Japan or choose the best local catches.
Atmosphere and Intimacy: We picked restaurants with limited seats and stylish, cozy spaces where you can really focus on the food and the chef’s skills.
Value for the Price: Good food is an investment, so we made sure that what you pay matches the quality and service you get. We looked at how many courses you receive and if the whole experience is worth the final bill.

Customer Reviews

I was able to try varieties

As a Japanese person, this dinner really took me back home.

Beyond the quality fish, whose provenance was explained by the servers, it was lovely to enjoy flavours I miss from Japan, like yuzu, kinome miso and momiji oroshi. They were paired thoughtfully with each fish, enhancing its flavour without overpowering it.

And because it was an omakase, I was able to try varieties I wouldn’t normally order on my own, which I appreciated.

They go above and beyond with the menu here

Truly stunning meal that’s one of a kind! The sushi is the highest of quality, the service was outstanding, and everything was just amazing. It’s very true to what omakase in Japan is like and they go above and beyond with the menu here. There were some bites that made me emotional. It’s definitely a special occasion restaurant and everyone there was celebrating a birthday or anniversary, but if I had my way (or the funds) I would celebrate all my birthdays there!

Plus, the chef’s counter offers a special 12-course omakase, though seats are limited and getting a reservation can be pretty tough.

And if you’re seated in the main dining room, you’ll only get the five-course family-style tasting instead of the full chef’s counter experience.

Still, their carefully chosen wine pairings make every meal feel extra special, no matter where you sit.

The entire experience was wonderful

Came here to celebrate my mother’s 70th birthday with their omakase menu – specifically the counter experience so that we could see the action.

The entire experience was wonderful. The wait staff was attentive, every course was explained well, and the sushi chef (Sunny) was the star of the show.

Every morsel of food tell their own story with different textures and taste combinations. I’m looking forward to my next visit!

We were very satisfied and LOVED the interaction with the staff

We had an amazing time at Nama Omakase. We had originally planned to partake in the counter omakase experience, but were so hungry at 5PM so asked to be seated at a table. We chose the $130 Omakase meal and were delighted by the quality and quantity of the food. We were very satistfied and LOVED the interaction with the staff. Looking forward to coming back with my husband 🙂

Customer Reviews

The food was incredible, executed perfectly and with a story to accompany each dish

We had such an incredible experience at Maison An. The seating is very intimate and the number of people per service felt just right. Chef An took the time to get to know each of us and to talk us through each dish. The food was incredible, executed perfectly and with a story to accompany each dish. If you’re looking for an Omakase experience at an excellent price point, you can’t go wrong with Maison An.

The experience and atmosphere were incredible

This is the very first omakase I have experienced that is fully female owned and operated. The experience and atmosphere was incredible because they are super friendly and paid a lot of attention to the details of the service as well as the customers’ experience. The food is not only based on very fresh and uniquely sourced ingredients, but also incorporated lots of new elements that are inspired by the Vietnamese culture. Chef took the time to describe each and every course to make sense of the combination of the  different flavors.

Their omakase takes you on a journey, starting with lighter bites and moving to richer flavours, and a guest told us each dish felt thoughtful and perfectly timed.

At the heart of the meal, you’ll get premium nigiri and sashimi, often made with sustainable fish straight from Japan’s famous Toyosu Market.

Another highlight is their Toro Experience, where you get to taste three types of bluefin tuna, from clean and mild to super rich.

One thing to note is that their omakase counter has limited spots and fills up pretty fast, so it’s a good idea to book your seat ahead of time if you want to experience it.

The freshness of the ingredients is top-notch

The omakase experience is stellar. My sister and I took my parents here for their wedding anniversary, and we were so impressed that we came back a week later.

The freshness of the ingredients is top notch, as well as the service and attentiveness of the staff.

The portions are just the right amount to feel satisfied without feeling bloated.

I definitely recommend this restaurant

I had a fantastic lunch time there.

To start with, price is not that friendly to your wallet. But the quality is worth it. I took the chief omakase with a green tea and dessert.

Tea was good. Hard to miss it.

Then i got the sushi. They were excellent. Nice presentation. Not too salty. Perfect amount of everything. Specially the Totoro. It was so good !!! I definitely recommend this restaurant.

The staffs are super friendly and nice. I was alone and we talked the whole meal. Like a good friend. good food. Good experience.

Customer Reviews

Our group thoroughly enjoyed the conversation as much as the meal itself

We visited in February 2025 and had a truly exceptional omakase experience. Vincent was warm, engaging, and deeply knowledgeable, taking the time to walk us through the nuances of the edomae sushi tradition. Our group thoroughly enjoyed the conversation as much as the meal itself.

Such a warm and happy dish

Hands down, one of the best sushi omakase experience I’ve ever had. The tuna (3 types of cuts) and the barracuda were my personal favorite. I also cannot forget the egg custard course. Such a warm and happy dish. Their sake pairing is excellent (shout-out to David for taking care of the pairing and accomodating some of my requests).
