The Best Optometrists in Montreal for Comprehensive Eye Health Evaluations
Confession time: I’m a bit of a four-eyes myself. So, trust me, I know the struggle of finding an optometrist who’s not just competent but also makes you feel comfortable. After all, we’re talking about people who handle your eyeballs – it’s not exactly a casual encounter.
That’s why I’ve made it my mission to search Montreal for optometrists with the perfect combination of skill and personality.
We’re talking about the folks who’ll make you laugh while they’re checking your vision, who’ll explain things in a way that doesn’t make your head spin, and who’ll genuinely care about keeping your peepers in tip-top shape.
How much does it cost to visit an optometrist in Montreal? Visiting an optometrist in Montreal costs around $115. However, the final price may change depending on the additional tests needed, specialised services, or insurance coverage. |

Provides excellent guidance in choosing frames
“There are so many very good frames to choose from and designer brands. Older models go on sale and was able to get a Celine frame! Staff are so nice and amazing, especially the Optometrists. One of them helped me pick the right thickness of frame to go with my lenses! This place is highly recommended.”

Remembers customers even after a purchase
“Simply incredible service! Shortly after I purchased my glasses, they were damaged when I fell. I simply continued to wear them. About a month or so later, I ran into the opticien, Mike Nercessian, and he remembered me. He noticed the damage to the glasses and then proceeded to make the arrangement to replace the lens under the warranty. I have never had such amazing service anywhere.”

Welcomes customers warmly from entry to exit
“I just broke my glasses because I stepped on them and needed to find a new optician and a glasses store. I was told by a friend of mine to check out Klar vision who offers one of a kind and unique frames at very reasonable prices. I have been wearing glasses all my life and I have tried many shops but their selection looks better and is definitely better quality and they carry many high end brand as well. I bought a pair of glasses with the help of the representative ALEX and I couldn’t be happier with the service I have received. The staff was welcoming from the moment I walked in the store until I stepped out. They also offer sans- rendezvous appointments which was a relief in my case! Overall extremely happy with the service! Kind, helpful and knowledgeable staff that I look forward to returning to.”

We were struck by how Dr. Valérie Tran combines precision and warmth in her approach to eye care. Her expertise in pre- and post-operative care is evident. She ensures that patients get the attention they need both before and after surgery.
During our visit, we noticed just how thorough she is, especially with those tricky cases like floaters or retinal conditions. It’s no surprise patients keep coming back and speaking so highly of their experiences.
What we found particularly refreshing was the atmosphere – there’s a genuine sense of care that goes beyond just medical treatment.

Displays eye photos during the exam
“Great experience visiting for a first time eye exam and contact lens prescription update. The staff were friendly. Dr Tran was very thorough and asked a lot of specific questions about my eye history and lifestyle in order to provide good recommendations, and offered a lot of information. She was very straightforward and did not hesitate to share her unfiltered thoughts, I found her to be funny and personable. I was able to ask a lot of questions. I also appreciate that they show you the photos of inside your eyes, that’s just neat. I called around several places in the area for prices, and prices here for both contacts and the exam were reasonable/competitive. They were also understanding of budgets and didn’t try to pressure me into anything.”

Prioritises patient vision over an assembly-line approach
“Dr. Tran lived up to all the posted comments and patient experiences. I too am a new patient and had the most positive experience with her as well as her staff recently. I was looking for an optometrist that was concerned with my vision first and foremost and one that does not subscribe to the assembly line type of optometry one finds in the large chains that advertise. I am 68 and had not been for an eye exam in several years. Dr. Tran was more than thorough with her examination, took plenty of time to tell me about my condition( all good) and properly consulted me on my options to improve my vision and quality of life with new glasses. And oh, by the way, most professional and a pleasant human disposition, relaxed , not rushed, made me feel like she truly cared and wanted me to like my experience with her. She is a 30 + year expert and runs a smaller practice with a small support staff who are just as professional as she is. You can trust all these people to take care of your vision, while properly consulting you on proper frames and styles for you, and making sure all adjustments are just right! Dr Tran is also multi-lingual and serves all her clients in the language of their choice, in my case in French. I now have the only optometrist I can trust and will continue managing my vision comfortably with her for the years to come .She truly deserves to be rated #1.”
